Nicholas Paquette is the New Paltz Hawks Athlete of the Week

SUNY New Paltz men's basketball player Nicholas Paquette of Smithtown, N.Y. has been named the Week 12 Athlete of the Week.

Nick Paquette averaged 14.5 points against conference rivals Oswego State and SUNY Cortland Jan. 5 and 6, respectively, and shot an astounding 55 percent from the field, hitting on 11-of-20 attempts, including knocking down 7-of-14 from 3-point range. Against the Lakers, Paquette was the team's second-leading scorer, notching 14 points in just 23 minutes, while adding two rebounds and two assists.

Against the first-place Red Dragons, Paquette also finished as the Hawks' second-leading scorer with 15 points in 32 minutes of action, while also pulling down six rebounds, dishing out an assist to go along with two steals on the day.
