Morgan Roessler Named 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-Americans

2015 Nov 30

Morgan Roessler of Massapequa, NY has been named as 2015 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-American, as announced by the AVCA.

In addition, Roessler was also tabbed as an AVCA All-Northeast Region selection for the 2015 season.

This marks Roessler's first-ever AVCA Honorable Mention All-America nod after picking up her first-ever AVCA All-Region honor this season. Roessler earned the third All-SUNYAC recognition of her career this year as well, as she was named to the All-SUNYAC First Team in 2015 and was a Second-Team All-SUNYAC choice in 2013 and 2014. This season, Roessler ranked fifth in the SUNYAC in blocks per set (0.89) and fifth in the conference in hitting percentage (.296 – 306-105-679). Her best match of the year came against one of the top teams in the region, as she floored a season-high 21 kills and hit .553 (21-0-38) in a five-set loss to The College at Brockport that ultimately locked the Hawks into the No. 2 seed in the SUNYAC Tournament. In the program's record books, Roessler ranks sixth all-time in total blocks (313) and is tied for eighth all-time in hitting percentage (.304 – 857-274-1,915). A 2013 graduate of Massapequa High School, she is the daughter of Rich and Shari Roessler.
