Megan Gangewere named Defensive Player of the Week honorable mention by the NFHCA

SUNY New Paltz student Megan Gangewere of Nazareth, Pa. was selected as a Defensive Player of the Week honorable mention at the Longstreth NFHCA Division III awards.

"This honor is well deserved," said Hawks coach Shanna Szablinski. "She kept us alive in the game on Saturday against Rochester. She played aggressive and didn't hold back, which in return was able to shut down many scoring opportunities."

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a "non-profit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States. The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport."
