Lua Arcos-Pangione is a member of Ubuntu Theatre at SUNY New Paltz.

Ubuntu Theatre is a theatre-based performance and education group created by primarily Students of Color (SOC) at SUNY New Paltz. Their goal is to educate themselves and their peers on issues of community import through workshops, scene studies and performances that center on the experiences of SOCs.

Ubuntu comes from Zulu philosophy meaning "I am what I am because of who we all are." The organization aims for students to reclaim their narratives by creating their own works and telling their own stories. In using the word Ubuntu, the organization aims to create a community, in which all students can relate, educate, and express themselves in a strong community.
