Katrina Scarimbolo was awarded the SUNY New Paltz Honors Program Experiential Scholarship

Katrina Scarimbolo of Staten Island, N.Y. was awarded the SUNY New Paltz Honors Program Experiential Scholarship.

The Scholarship provides funding for students to pursue engaged learning activities outside the classroom.

The Honors Program seeks to develop and intensify skills from a conceptual point of view in a diverse multidisciplinary analytical environment that nurtures independent thinking, creativity, respect and social responsibility. The program promotes deep engagement with ideas through an innovative pedagogy and creative interdisciplinary curriculum.

In order to maintain membership in the Honors Program, students are required to maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher; to complete at least 40 hours of community service; and to present a thesis reflecting the skills and relationships they built over the course of their college career.
