Julia Perhacs thriving on the softball field and in the lab

2018 Apr 12

SUNY New Paltz recognizes softball player Julia Perhacs of Robbinsville, N.J., for taking part in a scientific breakthrough in biopharmaceutical research in an internship with global biopharmaceutical company Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Under the guidance of BMS scientist Gregory Barnett, Perhacs, a senior captain on the SUNY New Paltz softball team, worked the entire summer studying and testing substances with a new technology called Spectradyne.

After nearly three months of research, working at the BMS lab, testing anti-bodies and subjecting them to stress, Perhacs and Barnett were able to characterize aggregation with the help of this new machine.
