Jake Williams named SUNYAC Baseball Player of the Week

SUNY New Paltz student Jake Williams of Massapequa, N.Y. was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Baseball Athlete of the Week for the week of April 9, 2018.

Williams, a senior third baseman for SUNY New Paltz men's baseball team, helped the Hawks take two of three from the College at Brockport. The Golden Eagles entered the weekend at 5-3 in the SUNYAC and hadn't allowed more than five runs to a conference opponent yet, but Williams and SUNY New Paltz dominated the opening double header with scores of 11-1 and 11-2.

In the first game Williams went 2-for-5 with a home run and followed it up in the second game going 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored for a 1.250 slugging percentage.
