Emily Correia took part in the 2017 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience Program

Emily Correia of East Setauket, N.Y. completed a research project entitled "Milankovitch Cyclicity in the Lowe Devonian of the Hudson Valley " for the 2017 Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program.

During the course of eight weeks, SURE program participants conduct faculty-mentored research or creative activities in order to expand their knowledge and gain valuable scholastic experience.

Upon completion of their various projects, students present their research to an audience of faculty, staff and students during a major fall semester event. This helps students develop additional skills communicating their research and responding to questions.

The scholars then presented their findings to an audience of peers and professors at a series of showcases in September.
