Jacquelyn Rankel of Eastport, N.Y. is a member of the Service Learning Community at SUNY New Paltz.

The Service Learning Community is a meaningful living and learning experience for first-year students looking to gain a deeper understanding of service through personal growth, volunteerism, practical experience, and community involvement. Students explore the varying concepts of service, civic education and social justice, and consider their implications for personal, academic and societal growth.
