Ashley DeMartino is a member of the Clay Club

Ashley DeMartino of Levittown, N.Y. is a member of the SUNY New Paltz Clay Club for fall 2017.

The Club is in conjunction with the Ceramics Program at New Paltz. The program provides a "dynamic environment for all student's artistic growth and development through a thoughtful and challenging inquiry of materials and meaning."

The Clay Club holds "Pottery Sales" in which they sell members' works. All proceeds go to the club and also to the individual member. The club funds visiting artist workshops and demonstrations/lectures, trips to conferences such as the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA), and helps fund the thesis exhibition costs.

The sale highlights the student's work and gives them a learning experience on selling their work and promoting themselves outside of school. The next sale will be held in December, in the rotunda of the Fine Arts Building.
