Alyssia Jackson Inducted into Delta Sigma Theta at SUNY New Paltz

Alyssia Jackson is a member of the SUNY New Paltz chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.

The Fraternity and Sorority Community at the State University of New York at New Paltz is dedicated to the ideals of friendship, scholarship, leadership, and service to the campus and community.

As a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Alyssia gains leadership skills through chapter development, officer roles, governing opportunities and training programs. In addition, Delta Sigma Theta gives back to the local community through community service and philanthropic events year after year. Fraternities and sororities provide members with a family experience while here at college. Delta Sigma Theta members share a strong bond and deep friendship that only a sorority can provide.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding more than 200,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea.

Students may participate in the New Member Education Program of a fraternity or a sorority after successfully completing at least 12 credits at SUNY New Paltz, and having a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
